A few weeks ago I saw the journal of
and found this very refreshing. She was stepping out of anonymity. I thought about this for a while and decided I want do follow her in this revelation. Do you want to know who it is you are watching? If you are curious...just keep reading.
I'm MadameThenadier. Why I use that name is somewhat of a strange story. My photoshopping "career" started several years ago on www.worth1000.com when a colleague of mine showed me that site. I wanted to enter a contest but to do that I had to create an account and make up a name. At the same time I was on the phone with a good friend of mine. She told me she was going to play the part Of Madame Thenardier in the musical "Les Miserables". I thought that would be a cool name for my Worth account. But in my haste I didn't spell it the proper way, I forgot to add an "r" so my Artist name is Unique in it's own stupid way. The advantage is that the google results aren't effected by all the "Les Miserables" images that are on the internet.
Besides MadameT I'm also a mother of three little boys. When you look through my gallery you will probably spot them here and there. They are now 6 years, 4 years and 1,5 years old. We have a very hectic but intimate houshold with a very high testosterone level. I will keep my husband to myself but we are together for almost 15 years now, and still very happily married. This is me with my oldest son.
So I mentioned www.worth1000.com to you. That is the place to be when you want to learn how to use photoshop or when you want to improve your skills. Every day there is a new Effects contest that triggers you to think and act fast. Also lots of tutorials available and full of very nice and helpfull people. There is also a great mentor program available that connects you with a skilled mentor who will guide you during two weeks. At this moment I'm administrator of this program and make sure mentor and mentee are connected.
My first ever photomanipulation was also my first contest at Worth. I'm gonna show it to you...ha ha ha.
You probably won't believe it seeing this work but I went to Artschool. I studied 3D arts which meant I was constantly with my hands in clay or sawing wood or something like that. Also spend a few years on a design and advertising school, but didn't like it. Now I'm working in our family business, we own a ICT company where I manage the software development department. Besides software developing I'm aslo responsible for our website designs. That is where the creative part comes in.
I'm here on DA because I need to let out my creative thinking. I want to get inspired by all you great artists. Where ever I can help upcoming photomanipulators with my knowledge I will. That is also why I joined
as a teacher in Photomanipulating. Because a person can never really stop learning I also joined this group as an illustration student
. As you can see i'm a better manipulator than I am a writer...please forgive me for that.
It is a joy to meet you all every day. Thank you.
